Title:  East Union Early Childhood Site Coordinator

Building/Department Assignment: E. U. Early Childhood Center

Reports to:  East Union Early Childhood Center Director

 

Qualifications:

CDA (Child Development Credential) is required*

CACFP(Child and Adult Care Food Program) knowledge is required

 

General Duties and Responsibilities:

The Early Early Childhood Site Coordinator will be actively involved with all aspects of on-site supervision of the program.

 

  • Develop a positive and supportive relationship with staff, parents and children involved in the Early Childhood program
  • Create a safe and nurturing environment for all students
  • Supervise the general operations of the program, guide assistants in the program with duties and, when volunteers are on site, guide them in a positive and effective manner.
  • Assist Program Director in developing staff schedules
  • Communicate and regularly collaborate with teachers, Director, counselors, and parents to ensure student success
  • Maintain accurate daily records of enrollment, attendance, and meal count.
  • Oversee the breakfast, lunch, and snack programs to assure compliance with CACFP guidelines
  • Schedule visitors to come into the program and supervise the visit
  • Attend Early Childhood Institute (ECI) meetings provided by AEA
  • Attend required Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) trainings
  • Plan meals and purchase food for program that meets CACFP
  • Continue to research and seek out the best materials, resources, and practices for early childhood programming.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings and all required trainings
  • Incorporate a community service component by connecting parents/ families with services
  • Supervise the distribution of daily meals and snacks
  • Provide training to staff on the CACFP guidelines for serving and reporting
  • Give parents tours and assist parents in the enrollment process
  • Assist Director in financial reporting, billing, parent statements, DHS (Department of Human Services) children, staff files, notes to parents, and other items as assigned by Director
  • Provide written items/articles for monthly parent newsletter
  • Create partnerships with area agencies/organizations, and businesses

  • Attend all training workshops and in-services as required by East Union School and Director
  • Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills
  • Maintain and complete required paperwork meeting required deadlines 
  • Use of skill in organizational and time management
  • Provide training/information as needed to volunteers and new coworkers
  • Help to meet/exceed quality standards – which may include: NAEYC, QRS, QPPS, IELS
  • Handle confidential information with discretion
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with East Union Early Childhood Center families, staff, director, and community contacts
  • Strive to maintain a positive attitude and a desire for excellence in job performance and relationships

 

*CDA (Child Development Credential) is a competency-based, nationally recognized credential awarded by the Council for Professional Recognition in Washington, DC. and includes 120 clock hours of training.  Yearly training is required to maintain this credential.
